This tower was designed with a crown at its top; one that was intended to protect and shield, not to be looked over. People inhabit this tower's middle zones, but the outliers--roof and basement--remain off the grid. Yet the roof and basement are both public spaces. The top of the fortress, with its crown-like bastion, is a space that is in the public sphere but not intended for public use; it is a space that denies, rebuts and repels.
